The incident caused the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Formal charges have been brought against two men following a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be capsaicin spray led to people being hurt at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, according to official statements.

This legal action stems from an probe of an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.

A three-year-old girl was caught up in the incident in the event. A total of five individuals required hospital care and were later discharged.

This event – described by police as was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in train delays and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
