Expedition 33 Triumphs at the 2025 Gaming Honors
The forty-third annual Golden Joystick Awards were hosted recently, and in a stunning show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the top winner. The standout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive earned the coveted Top Game award, along with honors for Superb Storytelling and Top Visual Design.
Enhancing the studio's success, its talented cast also garnered individual awards. Jennifer English was named Best Lead Performer for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Actor for his role as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive the studio received Best Development Team. In total, Clair Obscur and its developers achieved 7 awards throughout the show.
Other major winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Best Audio Design and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Top Self-Published Indie and PC Game of the Year. Notably, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are chosen by the audience, with only 4 categories—Critics Choice, Rising Star, Hall of Fame, and Streamer Selection—decided by critics.
