Non-Representational Art in Spain
This historic hillside village, a ancient hillside village in Andalucía, around 45 minutes’ drive from Granada, is the stimulating location for this painting holiday. Painters of every skill level – including beginners – will be taught how to conceive and execute non-representational pieces. A portion of the time will be spent outside, working on guided exercises out in nature. These initial charcoal drawings and paintings will then be developed in the workspace, with participants producing a number of abstract landscapes in acrylics to be displayed in the village. The group has exclusive access of the venue, which is set around an open courtyard and has a roof terrace with views over the countryside. The cost covers five days’ painting tuition; all meals; and an excursion to the nearby fortress and additional points of interest.

Vegetarian Culinary in the Algarve
This Mediterranean cooking retreat, set on a riverside villa in the inland Algarve, is inspired by the vegetarian dishes of celebrated cooks. Participants will master the art of meze spreads, attend a falafel-making workshop, refine brunch dishes such as shakshuka, and make hearty mains including spicy mushroom ragu and moussaka. There are trips to the village market and a nearby winery to taste Portuguese wines, combined with leisure time for strolls by the Funcho River, to unwind on the deck or take a dip in the pool. The villa, a renovated rural property, has five bedrooms, plus glamping tents in the gardens.

Street Dance in Buckinghamshire
This energetic camp is an energizing, inclusive weekend dance intensive for adults in High Wycombe. The format throughout the camp is a high-energy group warmup, then three 90-minute classes covering various street dance styles, then an hour-long freestyle session to show off new moves. Participants are split into groups according to ability and experience, so it is perfect for those who are brand new to popping and locking, all the way to experienced performers or instructors. This event does not provide lodging but there are several hostels and hotels nearby, and it is under an hour by train into central London.

Sea Shanty Weekend in St Ives
This coastal town is the excellent setting for a maritime music retreat. Participants will learn historic sailing songs from a experienced musician, and have a go at composing original ones. There will be vocal warmups, breath control techniques, performance tips and a final evening concert. The retreat is held in a country house overlooking the bay. All meals are included, such as a Cornish cream tea on arrival, cooked or continental breakfasts, packed lunches and three-course dinners. Grog, unfortunately, is not provided. Writing in Crete
Writer and lecturer Greg Mosse conducts the regular sessions on this writing retreat. He covers everything from story structure, characters, locations and tension, to submitting work to agents. Greg’s wife, the well-known writer Kate Mosse, will participate in special sessions at the beginning and end of the week. The retreat is held at a traditional complex in Vamos at the base of the White mountains – 10 one- and two-bedroom cottages are set around a central garden with a pool (companions are welcome to share). On the last night, aspiring writers celebrate with a musical performance in the garden and a final meal.

Beginners' Beekeeping in Mid Wales
The Centre for Alternative Technology near Machynlleth runs a wide range of programs covering sustainability: from creating habitats to upcycling. This weekend introduction will help attendees understand the fundamentals of beekeeping, study the life cycle of honeybees and discover their environmental benefits. It is aimed at produce “bee-friendly beekeepers”. This course is also a opportunity to de-stress in the centre's carefully maintained woodlands, which are home to polecats, otters, dormice, lesser horseshoe bats and rare birds.
